Case Study: Computerized Assistant Accounting

C.A. Accounting provides financial services to small and medium sized business including bookkeeping, accounts payable/receivable, bill payment, taxes and more.  Although they had begun to establish a web presence, they were in need of an upgrade.  Their goals included creating a more slick, professional layout with stronger branding, better navigation and ease of use, and a manageable content management system.  They are very happy with their new product, and are thrilled to be firmly in control of their online presence with a professionally branded identity.

Upgrade Goals

  • Retain Existing Content
  • Retain existing functions and forms.
  • Add a newsletter subscription.
  • Strengthen branding.
  • Create a professional and unique layout.
  • Improve Navigation.
  • Create an accessible CMS access point where everything could be updated.
  • Add new social networking links and improve SEO.

Because C.A Accounting was on a budget I suggested we use WordPress to manage their website.  This high tech open source software is regularly updated, feature backed, easy to use and FREE!

The new layout I created features a more prominently displayed logo, and a header that feels much less generic and more specific to this business.  I was able to feature their key information with two very strong call to action buttons, and still have clear and recognizable navigation.  Some basic javascript allows from a drop down menu, allowing for expanding navigation without sacrificing the bold styles and premium top of page real-estate.
